Chair
Sammy Alakil of a Scottish Mother & a Yemeni Father, who moved to the UK in 2014 to settle. He is currently an HR Professional, Philanthropist, & Entrepreneur who enjoys his work and helping out the community where needed and where possible.
Mohammed Saleh
Vise-Chair
Mohammed Saleh an IT entrepreneur & hospitality business owner currently a system architect & PhD student at the University of the West of Scotland, he gained an expensive volunteering experience with the community organisations as an interpreter, IT teacher and board member since he moved to Scotland in 2017.
Nabiha AlBanna
Secretary
Nabiha is a Graduate of BA Graphic Design and is currently studying towards MBA, she has a wide range of experience in working in administration and Non-profit organisations. She is an active member of the Yemeni community in Scotland. Believes anything is possible if one works towards it.
AliAburijal
Treasurer
Ali Aburijal is a recent graduate from Heriot-Watt University who is passionate about helping people have the resources for a better life. Currently working in the financial industry in Edinburgh.
The Team's Objectives
Establish the (Map Of Life In Scotland)
Form a strong foundation for the community so it is legal and inclusive for everyone.
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in Scotland, various councils and charities etc.
Contribute to the integration in Scotland.
Organise different cultural and fun activities for everyone to enjoy which will allow us to know Scotland more and introduce Yemen to Scotland.
Work hand in hand with the Scottish community and various entities to benefit the Scottish society as a whole.
